I'm a self-employed researcher, a writer and an NCT Postnatal Practitioner.

After graduating with a degree in History from Oxford University, I trained as a solicitor before joining what was then MORI in 1999.

During my 11 years at Ipsos MORI, I worked across a range of research disciplines for public and private sector clients. I led on brand research at MORI and was Head of Customer Research at Ipsos MORI. I wrote extensively about research issues and for many years had divisional responsibility for marketing.

Since becoming self-employed in 2011, I have continued to work with a variety of clients on qualitative and quantitative social and market research projects. I also run research training.

I qualified as a Postnatal Practitioner with the NCT in 2012, and became an Excellent Practitioner in 2015. As well as running groups for new mothers, I have written, edited, and reviewed content for the NCT.

I have drawn upon all this experience and expertise in writing my first book, Motherdom: Breaking Free of Faulty Science and Good Mother Myths, which is due to be published in Spring 2025 by Verso.

The different strands of my work inform and enhance each other. The common thread which links them is understanding what makes people tick and how our contexts shape what we feel, say and do.
